WEEKLY UPDATE FROM REP. RYAN CHAMBERLIN

My fellow Floridians,

I had an exciting and productive week in Tallahassee! Last week, I had the opportunity to meet with stakeholders and constituents, as well as participate in Marion County Days at the Florida Capitol. It is the honor of a lifetime to serve and represent my community! I am working hard alongside my legislative colleagues to make District 24 a better place for the next generation of Floridians.

Thank you for reading this weekly recap of some of the great things happening in our Capital City. We are making great progress for our state! I truly appreciate your continued trust and support.

Around the Capitol

I had the pleasure of meeting with representatives from Florida Justice Reform to discuss their legislative priorities for this session. It was great to learn more about how this organization is combating wasteful civil litigation in our state.

It was an honor to welcome several health center CEOs from Marion County to the Florida Capitol to talk about legislation and ongoing projects in Marion County. High-quality and reliable healthcare is important to me, and I promise to work diligently to ensure patients and healthcare professionals have what they need to thrive.

On Tourism Day at the Capitol, I had the pleasure of meeting with the Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association and fellow members from the Marion County community. It was great to talk about legislative priorities and the importance of the hospitality and tourism industries in Florida’s economy.

My legislative aide, Ben, had the honor of welcoming several Assisted Living Facility presidents and industry partners from around the state to my office to talk about legislative priorities and my bill, HB 995 – Civil Actions Involving Assisted Living Facilities.

Marion County Days at the Florida Capitol

It was a privilege to meet with Diane Schofield, the founder of Hands of Mercy Everywhere in Belleview. We discussed legislative priorities and important appropriations projects. I am honored to support this incredible organization that comes alongside young girls in our community who need help and support.

I had the pleasure of welcoming Marion County Commissioners and other community leaders to Tallahassee to discuss legislative priorities, as well as ongoing projects happening in Marion County. It is an honor to work alongside these great public servants to make our county a better place for Florida families.

It was wonderful to meet with AdventHealth CEO Erika Skula to discuss legislative priorities and receive an update on their projects in Ocala. This great faith-based healthcare organization is doing such good work in our community, and it is a pleasure to support their needs in the Florida House.

I had the honor of attending and speaking at Marion County Days at the Florida Capitol. The Capitol Courtyard was lined with several informational tents hosted by Marion County businesses and nonprofits. There was also a constant line at Big Lee’s food truck! I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to all those who took the time out of their busy schedules to celebrate Marion County in Tallahassee. It was great to see such a strong turnout!

I had the opportunity to sit down with Mayor Marshall Roddy of McIntosh, Councilman Frank Ciotti, and Town Manager Jessica Gonzalez to discuss appropriation projects and legislative priorities. It was a pleasure to meet with them and learn more about the issues important to their community.

It was a privilege to meet with Cox Communication to talk about their legislative priorities this session and what I can do to serve them in the Florida Legislature. I greatly appreciate what they do for our state and communities.

Marion County School Board member Allison Campbell stopped by to drop off some cards that some students wrote to me. I am very grateful to Allison for making the effort to bring them by my office. The kind words from District 24’s students made my day!

I enjoyed meeting with several Cambridge students in my office. These bright young people were excited to share their legislative ideas and be part of the legislative process. It was a pleasure to welcome them to Tallahassee!
